SECURITY

Akpo (Aguata LGA), Dec. 21, 2021 (MOI) Commander Akpo Vigilance Group, Mr Sunday Ezenwata has expressed his readiness in offering Ndi Akpo, a secure Yuletide season and beyond.
Mr Ezenwata made the pledge while interacting with information officers, at Saint Paul’s Catholic Church Akpo Premises, on Dec. 20.

He said: “we are ready to give Ndi Akpo hitch-free Yuletide season.

We have worked on the prohibited drug dealers and directed them to leave Akpo Community.

“We are working in synergy with neighbouring towns such as Nkpologwu, Amesi, Achina and Ogboji.

“Our relationship with the police is cordial. Each time we request their services, they respond promptly.

“We have engaged the services of town criers in directing young people that the use of drugs is destructive and to desist forthwith or face the wrath of the vigilance groups.
Sacrifices of any kind are strictly prohibited. It does not matter if it is done in the day time or at night times.

We have 24 hour surveillance. Every spiritual obligation is to be done in the Church, otherwise, must be approved by the vigilance groups,’’ he emphasised.
We have opened spur roads to decongest our major roads. The aim is to beat the traffic jams.
I wish that motorists complement our efforts by obeying our directives, in their own interest.
We have directed beer parlours and other entertainment outfits to close as soon as it is 10pm. This is to enable us to mind the roads properly,” he noted.
Ezenwata pleaded with those that wish to drink alcohol to do so responsibly, so as to be in the right frame of mind at all times.
“Vigilance group is a friend to all. So, if confronted for any reason, freely explain yourself.
If anything incriminating is found, we hand you over to the police. Do not be afraid of coming to Akpo. Only be law-abiding.
Many strange faces are already here, more are coming, but with cooperation, Akpo hospitality is intact,” he assured.
